Here are some diagrams to show the different ways a truck’s frame can be damaged:
Truck Frame Side-Sway Damage:
When a truck has side sway frame damage its frame rails are out of alignment with the center line of the chassis. This misalignment can vary greatly with the impact.
Truck Frame Sagging Damage:
When a truck has sag damage to its rails the rails are bent out of horizontal alignment.
Truck Frame Diamond Damage:
When a truck has a diamond frame one chassis rail is moved in front or behind the other and the chassis’s crossmembers are bent.
Truck Frame Twist Damage:
When a truck has frame twist damage one chassis rail end is higher or lower than the other.
